Tournament information and regulations

1. Entry forms and payment must be received by the organiser Patrick Garlick, 6 Camlea Close, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 3BP no later than Saturday 14th January 2017

2.   The draw will take place on Sunday 15th January 2017.

3.   If it is necessary to restrict entries, restriction will be on the basis of last received, first out. Late entries will only be accepted if there is still space in the event after the closing date.  Entry fees will not be refunded to any withdrawals after the closing date for entries.

4.   There will be a limit of 48 entries in singles and 24 pairs in doubles.

5.   Confirmation of entry will be emailed out to all competitors.

6.   The venue will be open no earlier than 12:30pm for practice

7.   Refreshments will be available on site on the day.

8.   There is free parking at both the rear and the front of the school.

9.   There are both men’s and ladies changing facilities on site.

10. Play will be on 9 Donic tables.

11. Xushaofa 3* white plastic balls will be used.

12. Each table will be courted individually. Minimum court dimensions will be 9m x 5m with a minimum ceiling height of 5m from the floor.

13. Score machines will be used on all tables

14. Lighting is general strip luminaire lighting. Light intensity is approximately 400 lux.

15. Flooring is solid with plastic surface suitable for table tennis.

16. The singles event will be on a progressive knockout basis with all players progressing through each round whether they win or lose. Doubles event will start off in groups of 3 with the top pairs progressing to the main draw only on a straight knockout basis.

17. All events will be seeded based on a mix of ranking, ability and averages in local leagues.

18. Prize money will be awarded as detailed in the entry form and on the website. If entries are lower than expected then prize money may be reduced accordingly.

19. There may be photography for promotional purposes.

20. All competitors must report to the referee’s desk on arrival and must not leave the hall without obtaining permission. Players absent when called upon to play are liable to be scratched.

21. Both events will be mixed (i.e. males and females together)

22. All losing players will be required to umpire the next match on that table.

23. Times listed are approximate. Players should aim to arrive 30 minutes before their first event starts. Events may start earlier than scheduled.
