Basingstoke Open

Championship

 

Hosted by the Basingstoke & District Table Tennis

Association and Aldworth Table Tennis Club, the 4th

championship takes place at Aldworth School,

Basingstoke on Saturday 21st January 2017 and

consists of 2 events. Open Singles and Open Doubles.

 

The tournament is aimed at loacal league players, a

minimum of local league 2nd division standard is

advised although it is open to any player. Previous

years have included some county and nationally

ranked players.

 

Prize money is on offer in both events and the breakdown can be found on the prize fund page.

 

Open Singles - 1:00pm

The open singles event is run in a progressive knockout format with all players progressing through 6 rounds of matches regardless of whether they win or lose. With a full entry, all players are guaranteed a minimum of 5 matches. Prize money will go to the top 3 players. 

 

Open Doubles - 5:45pm

The open doubles event consists of up to 8 groups of 3 pairs with the top pair only from each group progressing to the main draw. With a full entry, all players will be guaranteed a minimum of 2 matches. Prize money will go to the top 3 pairs. 

 

The hall opens at 12:30pm and the venue has both mens and ladies changing facilities. There will also be refreshments on sale throughout the afternoon. The tournament is due to finish at approx 7:45pm.
