Tournament information and regulations

 

1.   Entry forms and payment must be received by the organiser: Patrick Garlick, 6 Camlea Close,     Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 3BP by no later than Sunday 25th January 2015.

 

2.   Draw will take place on Monday 26th January 2015.

 

3.   If it is necessary to restrict entries, restriction will be on the basis of last received, first out. Late entries will only be accepted if there is still space in the event after the closing date.  Entry fees will not be refunded to any withdrawals after the closing date

 

4.   There will be a limit of 50 entries in singles and 30 pairs in doubles.

 

5.   Confirmation of entry will be emailed out to all competitors.

 

6.   The venue will be open no earlier than 12:30pm for practice.

 

7.   Refreshments will be available on site on the day.

 

8.   There is ample free parking at both the rear and the front of the school.

 

9.   There are both men’s and ladies changing facilities on site.

 

10. Play will be on 10 Donic tables.

 

11. Butterfly 3* white celluloid balls will be used.

 

12. Each table will be courted individually. Minimum court dimensions will be 9m x 5m with a minimum ceiling height of 5m from the floor.

 

13. Score machines will be used on all tables.

 

14. Lighting is general strip luminaire lighting. Light intensity is approximately 400 lux.

 

15. Flooring is solid with plastic surface suitable for table tennis.

 

16. The singles event will start off in groups of 5 where possible with the top 3 players progressing to the main draw. The bottom 2 will progress to the consolation draw. Doubles events will start off in groups of 3 with the top pairs progressing to the main draw only.

 

17. All events will be seeded based on a mix of ranking, ability and averages in local leagues.

 

18. Prize money will be awarded as detailed below. If entries are lower than expected then prize money may be reduced accordingly.

 

19. There may be photography for promotional purposes.

 

20. All competitors must report to the referee’s desk on arrival and must not leave the hall without obtaining permission. Players absent when called upon to play are liable to be scratched.

 

21. Both events will be mixed (i.e. males and females together)

 

22. All players will be required to umpire matches within their event.

 

23. Times listed are approximate. Players should aim to arrive 30 minutes before their first event starts. Events may start earlier than scheduled.
